Trust

Local-first is not local-only.

Local data lives in Dome’s application storage. A cloud provider only receives content when you configure it.

Storage

On macOS, Windows, and Linux the library, people, and semantic index live in the app data folder. Dome does not centralize your full library on its own servers by default.

Models and providers

Use local Ollama or the provider keys you choose. Content in that conversation follows that provider’s policy.

Permissions and actions

OAuth, email, and social are optional. Sending or publishing requires approval. Product analytics, if present, are opt-in.

Dome cloud

Sync and credits are optional and depend on Provider when that feature is available. They are not required to try the local value.
